UPDATE 2: Seeing this update, they have emailed me to reassure me that the refund was sent. Instead, they said if I called them, I might change my opinion on the software. Had they said they wanted me to work with them to try to improve the software, I might have done it. I felt dubious on their intention to talk on the phone, given how difficult everything was. Eventually they said they would refund me (still waiting for if they do) but still wanted to talk to me on the phone to help with my file recovery. I refused their request and demanded they still refund me. I don't think that should matter in all honesty, but if it did, they would have those instructions with the software.

UPDATE: They initially denied my request for a refund. Maybe the program will work for you, but their refund policy is in bad faith. Software didn't meant my needs and not like I'm going to use it for anything else, yet they have their money. Immediately I requested a refund and they deny me. I got this software to recover my document. I do backups all the time but Word has a tendency to run out of memory and corrupt my save files.
